Scott & Rick on Mt. Rainier in the early 90's
Rick Stoner and Scott Andrews met as coworkers in retail while working at the Alpine Shop. After a few years of sub-repping individually, in 1987 they decided to join forces and incorporate as Stoner//Andrews. Back then the territory that was covered was Maine to Virginia and west to Pittsburgh. A close friendship and a passion for the products they sold got them to a point where they had earned the trust and respect of many dealers and manufacturers in the industry. With a solid reputation they struck out to establish a business model that straddled the ski, outdoor, bike and footwear industries. Along the way they were founders of the Eastern Outdoor Reps Association, an organization that helps promote strong professional bonds between independent reps and retailers from Maine to Florida, as well as producing trade shows biannually on the east coast. Through the years, Stoner//Andrews has evolved and refined the delivery of service and technical product expertise given to the dealer base. Hiring highly qualified employees positioned throughout the territory ensures that the dealers we call on are well serviced and motivated to better sell our product offerings. Additionally, regional training seminars are produced by Stoner//Andrews on an annual
basis to bring our dealers together with product development personnel from the companies represented.
The heart and soul of Stoner//Andrews has always been self-propelled outdoor sports and activities. Our team has deep personal history and technical expertise across a multitude of disciplines: downhill and nordic skiing, running, cycling, hiking, paddling, climbing, surfing, hunting, sailing...the list goes on. Our passion for these activities with a healthy dose of competitiveness is the foundation of our success in the outdoor industry. The excitement of a single new product can spark an entire adventure; build bridges of friendships and connections; send us to new places, far-flung or just a few miles away; and refresh our spirits. We tap these emotions throughout our business activities with our vendors and the retail community to which we sell. In essence, we are in the business of cultivating and growing the collective outdoor experience.
